The mission of the Drop-In Learning Center is to serve youth from Southeastern Connecticut by focusing on helping to improve their educational performance, self esteem, and to help develop educational skills that will assist them in making positive life choices. We fulfill our mission by providing the following programs:
* Satellite Program at the Jennings School: Kindergarten Program
* Confident Kids at Faithfellowship Church serving Winthrop School
* Camp Rotary
* Services Southeastern CT
* KIDZ Program
* Motheread Program We were established in 1970 as an informal meeting place for inner-city young people in search of a meaningful learning experience after school and during school vacations. The building which houses the Drop-In Learning Center is provided by the Second Congregational Church of New London, CT. The Center is funded through a combination of local grants, the United Way, and private donations. We are governed by Board of Directors.
Donations Request Baby dolls, Computer games (teens and younger kids), Dry erase markers, Pencils, Chinese checkers, Connect 4 game, Uno cards, Art supplies (glue, paint, paper, etc.), Chess set, Markers, Crayons, Coloring books...
